CONSULTATION AGREEMENT

 

Thank you for contacting Mortimer Legal, PLLC regarding your legal issue. Trademark and copyright law is very detail specific. Therefore, in order to properly address your issues and concerns, you need a consultation. That way, we can best advise you on how to proceed with your matter.

This Initial Consultation Agreement (the “Agreement”) is for trademark and copyright matters only

and is made between you and Mortimer Legal, PLLC and becomes effective once it is signed and received by this office along with the payment for $200. 

This is a paid consultation and not an agreement for representation.

Unless otherwise agreed to, audio recording of the consultation is prohibited. 

This is a paid consultation with the consultation fee earned by Mortimer Legal, PLLC (the "Firm") immediately upon receiving payment for time and work required by the Firm to prepare for your consultation, which includes reading documents and researching your matter. Included in the consultation fee is up to thirty (30) minutes of attorney time via telephone. Afterwards, you will receive a via email a recap of the consultation. You will receive a receipt of your payment and no further payment will be required unless you decide to hire the Firm to represent you in your matter.

 

Should you retain Mortimer Legal, PLLC to represent you within seven (7) calendar days of your phone consultation, the $200 paid consultation will be applied to your representation fee. Note: You must retain the Firm for the same legal matter that was the subject of your consultation in order for it to be applied.

Please indicate all parties involved in your legal issue. If Mortimer Legal, PLLC has a conflict, you will be notified, and your consultation fee will be promptly refunded.

Everything  discussed during the this consultation will be confidential, however, neither this agreement nor payment of the consultation fee creates an attorney-client relationship with Mortimer Legal, PLLC. Furthermore, it does not constitute an agreement to represent you as your attorney concerning the discussed legal issue. Unless you retain the Firm's services by signing a Letter of Engagement and paying a representation fee, our professional relationship will end at the close of the initial consultation. 

 

You also acknowledge that every legal issue is unique to individual facts and circumstances and Mortimer Legal, PLLC cannot guarantee results for you. During this consultation, best efforts will be used respond to your specific questions involving your legal issue; however you acknowledge that some answers to specific questions may not be found without further research that goes beyond the scope of this consultation. Additionally, you receive documents or other general information for you to take with you after the consultation. You understand that the law and circumstances may change and you should not depend on the information in these  reference materials without seeking counsel.

 

If you wish for me to review any reasonable number of documents before our consultation, please email those to deborah@mortimerlegal.com.


During the consultation, I may offer referrals for certain services. Unless otherwise disclosed, Mortimer Legal, PLLC does not receive any referral fees and does not certify the results of the referred services. During the  consultation, you agree to be truthful and cooperative. You also agree to provide me with your current contact information and make the required payment. Mortimer Legal, PLLC accepts electronic payment for this consultation. You represent that you are authorized to make the payment.  

 

Only one consultation is provided on a specific matter without the Firm being retained. If after this consultation, you request Mortimer Legal, PLLC to provide a consultation on a different matter, another consultation fee will be required.
